Home News SC members’ forum 19/12/2022 statement

The latest forum of the Chelmsford City Supporters’ Club took place on 19th December 2022
to discuss the mandate towards the majority ownership of Chelmsford City Football Club,
which expired on 30th November 2022.

In the forum we ran through the Six Aims and expressed views on the progress towards
these aims and it was generally accepted by the room that the Football Club is working well
towards most of these aims, while also agreeing that there is still a way to go.

In spite of this, it was agreed by those members present that there was little relevance in
creating a new mandate and that the Football Club should continue to be held to account
through meetings with the Supporters’ Club, which will continue in 2023.

The working group for the new ‘Club Vision’ will be meeting for the first time in January 2023,
on a date to be determined, which we welcome as it was one of the Aims which had seen
little movement in recent times.

An agreed future purpose for the 12th Man Fund was also confirmed during this forum,
following the conclusion of the consultation period with current contributors, in which it was
decided that it would become a project-based fund until the end of the current season.

The committee will be discussing this further between now and the close season, but the
intention is to then review the Fund with a view to a potential rebrand ahead of the 2023-24
season, which we will update members on during the summer. As a result of the changes,
the fund will be contributing 50% towards the cost of a new set of goalposts for the main
pitch.

The Supporters’ Club will continue to run Members’ Forums into 2023 in which we will
continue to review the off-field progress of the Football Club and provide relevant updates.
