In April, a group of ten intrepid Clarets’ supporters will be making the 250 mile hike from The Great Orme, on the North Walian coast, to Chippenham, just in time for our final game of the season on 20 April 2024.
The walkers will begin their arduous journey on 13 April, starting the Great Orme Lighthouse, before traversing along the coast of Conwy and Denbighshire. From there, the crew of ten will find themselves on the Offa’s Dyke Path, passing through the Clwydian Range, eventually ending up at the Severn Bridge, via Llangollen, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the Welsh towns of Montgomery, Hay-on-Wye, Monmouth and Chepstow. After finding themselves back in England, the walkers will spend their final night in Bath, before making the trek east onto Chippenham.
Having raised an amazing £7,562 last season, on their walk from Mount Snowdon to Hemel Hempstead, in support of MATES and the Supporters’ Club, the walkers are setting a fundraising target of £10,000 in support of:
CanalAbility – an award winning charity dedicated to providing the facilities for people with a wide range of disabilities, health conditions or anybody experiencing disadvantages the opportunity to enjoy boating in Essex and Hertfordshire on the River Stort, using CanalAbility’s specially adapted canal boats.
