The Chelmsford City Supporters’ Club is disappointed that talks between Spencer Gore, formerly known as “Party 1”, and the Betsi ownership at Chelmsford City Football Club (CCFC) have broken down.
Spencer has worked hard for well over six months in attempting to agree a deal that we felt would have been hugely beneficial to the future of CCFC.
Spencer is a long-time supporter of CCFC, a former Club Director and a successful businessman. His business, EMJ, currently sponsors the Club’s Melbourne Stadium and has just been named as one of the Sunday Times’ Fastest Growing UK Businesses.
What has seemed apparent throughout the process has been the lack of transparency and responsiveness from Betsi, to those interested in a takeover, which the Supporters’ Club is extremely concerned about.
In light of these developments, the Supporters’ Club will be having discussions over the coming days about the way forward to best serve the interests of our members.
