SC generates further financial support through matchday competitions

This covid-affected season has left the club bereft of income, with the exclusion of fans from matches and no conferences or music events to bring in valuable revenue. The Supporters’ Club, in particular Gary Mixture, became proactive and launched on-line Goalden Goal and half-time 50/50 draw competitions to help fill the void.

Sponsorship from Callaway Sykes Associates and Tangent Resourcing has helped our cause and a huge thank you goes to these companies for their generous and continued support.

Initially taking in CCFC fixtures – both first and youth teams – the competitions switched to Premier League matches following the cessation of the National League South season. The first competitions were held for the 21st November game against Chippenham Town FC.

Thanks to the fantastic support from you, the fans, the Goalden Goal competition has sold all 91 tickets for each game covered, together with a very respectable prize-pot for the winner of each of the 50/50 draws.

Having already transferred £1,000 to the club, the SC will forward a further £1,000 this week. The competitions will end around mid-April and we hope to have raised and given the Football Club a total in excess of £2,500 by that time. This has been helped by generous winners donating their prize-money back to the football club or ploughing it back into the competitions to buy further tickets. In addition to this, some supporters also asked for their winnings to go directly to the Supporters’ Club or to the Twelfth Man Fund.

So once again, thanks to Bob Sykes and Tim Gallagher of Callaway Sykes Associates and Tangent Resourcing respectively for their generous sponsorship, as well as an enormous pat on the back to everyone who has, or will, participate in the remaining draws. As usual, the Claret Army has answered the call.

There is still time to take part in the competitions so please see the thread on the City Soapbox for details, link here: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/chelmsfordcitysoapbox84887/match-day-goalden-goal-and-half-time-50-50-draw-en-t18966.html.
