The Chelmsford City FC Supporters’ Club can announce that both Chairman Jordan McManus and Vice-Chairman Richard Macey will be standing down at the next AGM in June 2024.
Jordan will be moving on due to his plans to go to Australia in September to travel & umpire grade cricket, while Richard will be stepping down as a result of increasing work commitments.
Our Chairman said “I have thoroughly enjoyed my Chairmanship of the Chelmsford City Supporters’ Club during which has been a rather rocky time, unique to my tenure compared to my predecessors.
I would like to thank all those that have served on the committee during my time in post for their commitment & dedication and to our members who have on the whole supported us through these times. It has, on occasion, been tough to find the balance to please all in our approach to working with the Football Club and I accept that our approach has not always got the approval of every member and supporter.
While there have been some positives with the Football Club and our relationship with them during my tenure, I personally feel that there is still plenty of work to be done in order to bring all elements of the club back together and I will be watching with a keen eye from afar with how things progress.
I wish all involved with the Supporters’ Club, as well as supporters & staff of the Football Club well going forward. Me and Richard will be around for the remainder of this season and until our successors are elected, and we hope we can end on a high with a positive conclusion to the current season. Up the Clarets!”.
Our Vice-Chairman commented “I have valued the opportunity to contribute to the work of The Committee during what has been a challenging period of transition; however, I recognise that the time required to do the role proper justice is a luxury that I increasingly don’t have, owing mainly to growing commitments at work and elsewhere, so the time is right for me to step away and allow others who may wish to become involved the space to do so. I shall, of course, continue to support the team and to offer any guidance/advice that I can to the SC Committee from ‘outside of the tent’ as required”.
